Significance
Eachanari, located on the Coimbatore-Palani highway (NH-83) near the Pollachi junction, is famous for its massive Vinayagar (Ganesha) idol carved from a single green granite stone. The temple is uniquely paired as an Eachanari Vinayagar and Murugan complex, where the Murugan shrine within the premises is equally revered, making this a dual pilgrimage destination for devotees of both deities.
Architecture
The 7-tier rajagopuram was added in the modern period. The main Vinayagar sanctum features the monolithic green granite idol. The Murugan shrine in the outer prakaram has a 6-foot idol of Murugan with Valli and Deivanai. The temple walls have detailed frescoes depicting scenes from the Skanda Purana and Ganesha Purana. A 108-pillar mandapam serves as the ceremonial hall.
