About Lord Muruga

Lord Muruga, also known as Kartikeya, Skanda, Subrahmanya, and Shanmukha, is a prominent Hindu deity revered as the God of War. He is the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, and the brother of Lord Ganesha.

In Tamil culture, Lord Muruga holds immense significance and is considered the chief deity of the ancient Tamils — referred to as "Tamil Kadavul" (God of Tamils) and patron of the Tamil language.

He is typically depicted as an ever-youthful deity wielding the divine spear Vel and riding a peacock, symbolizing wisdom, valor, and the eternal triumph of good over evil.
