Significance

Pazhamudircholai is the sixth and final Arupadai Veedu. It is famous for the legend of Avvaiyar, the renowned Tamil poetess, whom Murugan tricked into humility by testing her knowledge of fruits. The temple is nestled in a lush forest on a hill, offering a serene spiritual retreat near Madurai.

Architecture

The temple is situated on a hill amidst dense foliage. The main shrine faces east with a simple yet elegant vimana. The gopuram is modest compared to other Arupadai temples, reflecting its forest setting. The sanctum houses Muthukumaraswamy with Valli and Deivanai. A natural spring called Sitraruvi (small waterfall) flows nearby. A large temple tank is located at the foothills. The approach road is lined with trees and offers scenic views.
